Startlight Walk on Thursday 10th April at 7.30pm

Many thousands of people take part in the Hospice Walk every year and each individual or group will have their own reasons for walking to raise funds for us.

Quite a number of our walkers specifically choose to take part in the Hospice Walk in memory of a loved one they have lost. Taking part in the walk means a great deal to these people who wish to raise funds to help the hospice care for others in a similar situation.

New for 2008, we have introduced the Starlight Walk which will be a walk especially designed to allow people to come along to walk and raise funds for us in memory of all those who were like stars in our lives.

The Starlight Walk will take place on the evening of Thursday 10th April. Walkers will gather in the Central Hall at Rosemary Street, Belfast from 7.30pm. We will then set off from 8.00pm in small groups to walk around the city centre, finishing again at the Central Hall. After all walkers have returned there will be a short informal service to remember all those people who were like stars in our lives.

Everyone who signs up to take part in the Starlight Walk will receive a free badge which can be personalised with the name of their loved one, or maybe even with a photograph. We hope then that all the Starlight Walkers will wear their badge with pride as they take part in the walk. Also in the pack will be sponsor forms to enable others to support the walk..

If you are a business in Belfast City Centre you can also show your support for this particular walk on April 10th by sending a donation of £30 to the address shown below. In return we will send you a large golden star for you to display in your window on the night of April 10th to help guide the way for the walkers.

Central Hall, Rosemary Street, Belfast, BT1 1QB
Starlight Walk Route : 2 miles

From the North take the M2 leading onto the M3 and follow the signs for Belfast City Centre. From the South take the M1 leading onto the Westlink and follow the signs for Belfast City Centre. Rosemary Street runs between Royal Avenue and Bridge Street. The Hall sits beside Clements Coffee Bar. There is multi-storey parking nearby at either Castle Court Shopping Centre or in High Street, there
is also limited on-street parking in Bridge Street.
