Go The Extra Mile And Volunteer At The Hospice Big Walk Week

We are currently recruiting volunteers to help out at our 12 hospice walks taking place on Saturday 17th April, Sunday 18th April, Thursday 22nd April and Saturday 24th April 2010, particularly for the following:
1) Meeting and greeting walkers at the start or finish of our walks
2) Signing on/off walkers at the start/ finish
3) Marshalling along the walk route
4) Giving out refreshments/sweets

Our 12 hospice walks take place in the following locations:

Saturday 17th April - North Down Coastal Path; Carrickfergus; Lagan Tow Path (Lisburn Civic Centre & Cutters Wharf in Belfast)

Sunday 18th April - Mournes Challenge (Tollymore Forest Park)

Thursday 22nd April - Starlight Walk (Belfast City Centre)

Saturday 24th April - Belfast Castle; Castle Coole, Enniskillen; Larne; Antrim; Castle Ward; Colin Glen; Portstewart

Volunteers would be required from 8.45am- 2.00pm on Saturday 17th & 24th April, and from 6.30pm-9.00pm on Thursday 22nd April. Volunteers for the Mournes Challenge are required to help with signing on and off and so would be required between the hours of 7.45am- 8.45am and then from 2.30pm- 5.30pm for signing off procedures. If you can spare a few hours of your time it will make a real difference to us!

Volunteers come from a wide variety of backgrounds and it does not matter if you have never volunteered or done something like this before. Whatever your interest, skills and experience there is sure to be a way you can help us. The Hospice walk is our largest single fundraising event and this year as we celebrate the 30th Hospice walk, we expect thousands of people to take part. Why not step up to the challenge and have some fun whilst helping the hospice raise vital funds for patient care?
